The frugal lifestyle means many things to many people.
To some it's simple living, others living cheap and
budgeting. It
does not necessarily mean a penny pinching lifestyle
(after all the term penny pinching dates from a time when
pennies were actually worth something!) or indeed one of
"just" making ends meet. In today's
society there is a massive "over consumption"
which is becoming the norm. It is my intention to live a
frugal lifestyle by finding ways to save money
and reducing the expenses of my family to
the minimum without lowering our standard of living. I
intend to be very careful with my money and hopefully save
a little as well. Being frugal and saving money are
very much the same thing in my opinion.
If you would like to live a frugal life, ask
yourself whether you want to because you need to be or is
it because you wish to try living like your grandparents
did. Initially, frugal living may cost a little
more e.g. buying bulk or larger items are often cheaper in
the long run and consequently you save money.
