Method

·         Pre-heat oven to 220°C (425°F) Gas Mark 7.

·         Into a large bowl, sift the flour. Then add the egg and milk.

·         Whisk until you have a smooth batter.

·         Put the sausages in a shallow ovenproof dish or non stick baking tin. Bake them in the oven for 10 minutes and then reduce the oven temperature to 200°C (400°F) Gas Mark 6.

·         Carefully remove them from the oven and pour the batter over the sausages.

·         Return to the oven and cook for a further 30-40 minutes, until the batter is well risen and golden.

·         Now serve your delicious Toad in the Hole with peas and mashed potato. Parsley optional.
